Why this exists
Knowledge is how we keep going.
Living Through the Pain brings a personal CRPS story together with careful, readable resources. Its purpose is to make chronic pain easier to understand without simplifying the people who live with it.
Some chapters describe limitations and uncertainty. Others describe work, family, humor, creativity, or a day near the water. They all belong. A pain score cannot tell the whole story of someone’s life.
Keep the story human
Living with pain reaches beyond medical appointments. Work, relationships, rest and ordinary joys deserve a place in the record.
Respect the evidence
Research is useful when the source, limitations, and strength of evidence are clear. Questions should remain labeled as questions.
Protect the private record
Raw journals and health records stay private. Publishing requires deliberate approval; no imported document becomes public automatically.
Our guiding line
Pain is not a lifestyle.
Knowledge is.
This is not a promise of recovery or a judgment about how anyone manages illness. It is a commitment to keep curiosity, agency and meaningful life in the picture.
How we separate experience from evidence →What you can expect here
Personal histories are presented as personal histories. Medical education points to established sources and makes room for uncertainty. Research questions are labeled as questions. We do not present a single treatment or product as a universal answer.
Original records and unpublished family perspectives are not automatically public. Contributors control whether their own words are shared. This is a personal educational site, not a substitute for individualized healthcare.
